Most of the Indians love cricket, and so me. Though I'm just an armature guy when it comes to playing, I enjoy wicket keeping. Wicket keeper is the one who is active every ball, and has to be always swift. So no wonder why M.S.Dhoni is my inspiration. After many failed attempts, I discovered few very basic things that helped to improve my keeping skills. As my other blogs, I write down them here for documentation purpose.
Palm Position
This is the very first step that improved how many balls I successfully catch. Always keep the palms wide open! It might sound obvious, but when amatures stand behind the stumps, they do not remember it. The below picture is a good example of how it should be!
Foot Position
Sitting only on the fore foot and lifting the back foot a little helps to be very agile. In this way the keeper is ready to move alongside the ball, thus better opportunity to catch it.
